During your stay in Australia, you are liable for any medical expenses. Unless your country has a reciprocal health care agreement with Australia, you will not be covered by Australia’s national health program (Medicare).

You should apply for a Visitor visa (subclass 600) rather than an ETA if you have any criminal convictions in any nation. You may be denied entrance to Australia if you come on an ETA with criminal convictions.
Before this visa can be granted, you must have no outstanding debts to the Australian government or have made arrangements to repay any existing debts to the Australian government.
Including family members, in your application, each family member traveling to Australia with you will require their own ETA. This includes any minors listed on your passport who are under the age of 18
Your ETA is effective for a year. You can visit Australia and remain for up to three months at a time. You can apply for another visa, such as a Visitor visa if you intend to stay in Australia for a longer amount of time (subclass 600).
