188D Premium Investor (PIV) Stream

Only applicants who have been nominated by Aus trade are eligible for this visa.

This is a four-year temporary visa for persons who intend to invest at least AUD 15 million in Australia’s complying investments. The candidate can apply for permanent residence through the Business Innovation & Investment (Residence) Subclass 888 visa after making a one-year investment in Australia.

To apply for this visa, the applicants can be in Australia or abroad.

If the applicant is currently residing in Australia, they must have a Substantive Visa or a Bridging A, B, or C visa.

General Requirements:

Prior to receiving the visa, applicants must invest at least AUD 15 million in a “premium investment.” For the purposes of the Premium Investor Visa, a “premium investment” is defined as:

Assets listed on the Australian Securities Exchange
Bonds or notes issued by the Australian government or semi-government
Corporate bonds or notes issued by an Australian exchange-listed firm (or a wholly-owned subsidiary of an Australian exchange-listed organization) or investment-grade rated Australian corporate bonds or notes rated by an AFS licensed debt rating agency
proprietary limited Australian companies
Residential property is not included in the definition of real estate in Australia.
Australian-registered life companies offer deferred annuities.
philanthropic contribution accepted by the state or territory government
